General Information
Smart Shooter is a private Israeli company specializing in the development of electro-optical fire control systems for small arms, utilizing artificial intelligence, computer vision, and machine learning technologies.[1]Smart Shooter Smart Shooter was co-founded by Michal Mor and Avshalom Ehrlich, both worked in Rafael Advanced Defense Systems prior to establishing Smart Shooter.[2]The Times of Israel, Startup says it can make rifles smarter, deadlier — and safer, 11.01.2021 The company, based in Kibbutz Yagur, has 80 employees, a manufacturing plant and three marketing subsidiaries.[3]Ynet, The Israeli inventor who turns every soldier into a sharpshooter, 23.12.23 Its flagship product, the SMASH Remote Controlled Weapon System, was developed under the direction and funding of the Israeli Ministry of Defense.[4]Smart Shooter[5]Who Profits, Smart Shooter The company reported peaks in orders from all over the world following the war in Gaza.[6]Ynet, The Israeli inventor who turns every soldier into a sharpshooter, 23.12.23
Main Products
Smart Shooter develops and markets the SMASH family of fire control systems, designed to enhance the accuracy of small arms by integrating advanced targeting algorithms. These systems can be mounted on various firearms and are promoted for their ability to track and engage both stationary and moving targets, including drones.[7]Ynet, The Israeli inventor who turns every soldier into a sharpshooter, 23.12.23[8]Smart Shooter
The company’s products can be categorized into two main types:
Handheld-Operated Systems
These systems function as advanced rifle sights, designed to assist shooters in targeting with greater precision. They are marketed under various names, including:
- SMASH X4
- SMASH 2000, SMASH 2000 PLUS, SMASH 2000L (3000)
- SMASH AD
Remote-Controlled Weapon Stations
These systems allow for remote engagement of targets, reducing direct exposure for operators. Key products include:
- SMASH Hopper – A remote-controlled weapon station that can be mounted in different configurations, including on tripods, fixed masts, surface vessels, and vehicles. It can also be integrated into existing command and control systems.
- SMASH Dragon – A robotic weapon payload designed for small UAVs. This system includes a SMASH fire control system, a rifle, and a remote trigger unit, allowing operators to engage targets from airborne platforms.[9]Smart Shooter
Undisclosed and Additional Systems
Beyond the products officially listed on its website, Smart Shooter has also developed remote-controlled gun turrets equipped with its SMASH technology. These turrets are designed for fixed positions, such as checkpoints and border installations, and can be operated remotely from a control center. They incorporate advanced targeting algorithms to track and engage targets from a distance. Reports indicate that this technology has been deployed in locations such as Hebron in the West Bank, where it has been used for crowd control.[10]AP, Israel deploys remote-controlled robotic guns in West Bank, 16.11.2022[11]Haaretz, Israeli Army Installs Remote-control Crowd Dispersal System at Hebron Flashpoint, 24.09.2022
