Xtend is an Israeli manufacturer of assault and surveillance drones, which also develops operating and control systems for unmanned platforms. The company was founded in 2018 by Aviv Shapira, Matteo Shapira, Rubi Liani, and Tzvika Tubi, and specializes in human-guided autonomous systems for defense applications. Xtend received funding from the European Union. Xtend manufactures several types of drones and develops XOS, its proprietary operating and control system, which enables operators to control the platforms, including through virtual-reality interfaces.

In August 2025 Xtend won a tender issued by the IDF Ground Forces and Logistics Division. The NIS 20 million deal consists of 5,000 first-person-view assault drones at an estimated cost of NIS 3,500 per unit, including operating stations and the virtual reality glasses worn by the operators. These drones are likely intended as single-use loitering or “suicide” attack platforms to be operated by combat battalions.
